Dr. Victor Ling is the founding President and Scientific Director of TFRI. He is an authority on multi-drug resistance in cancer, and is well-known for his discovery of P-glycoprotein, the first molecule identified to be responsible for drug resistance. Most recently, Dr. Ling was the Vice President of Discovery Research at the BC Cancer Agency. Dr. Ling provides overall leadership to TFRI, the development of translational research projects, relationships with stakeholders, and TFRI communications.
Dr. Ling was honoured with the LifeSciences BC Dr. Don Rix Award for Lifetime Achievement in April 2016. The award celebrates Dr. Ling's many contributions to cancer research during his long career.
