Ashley Girgis is the program manager of the Digital Health and Discovery Platform. She holds a Master of Health Informatics (MHI) from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Health Studies (BSc) with a Health Informatics Option from the University of Waterloo.
It was during her undergraduate studies that Ashley discovered health informatics as the perfect field to immerse herself into advanced analytics and computer science while making a meaningful impact on health care. This passion inspired her to pursue a master's degree recognized for equipping graduates with policy and leadership skills that are in high demand by Canada's rapidly evolving and increasingly technical health-care system.
Ashley has gained significant experience in both the public and private sectors, including roles in academia, hospital settings and corporate environments. Her areas of expertise include user-centred design and product lifecycle, project management, data science, artificial intelligence (AI) and electronic health record systems. A proud woman in tech and AI, Ashley is devoted to eliminating barriers to equitable care and improving population health through effective collaborations that use data and technology to address complex challenges.
