Dedicated cancer researchers funded by the Terry Fox Research institute continue to push the limits, raising $157,874 as part of this year’s Terry Fox Run Challenge – an annual competition among Terry Fox-funded researchers to determine who can raise the most money for cancer research. This year’s total surpasses last year’s, making it the second-highest fundraising total in the challenge’s history.
"We’re incredibly grateful for the commitment of our researchers,” says Jim Woodgett, TFRI President and Scientific Director. “Once again, we’re inspired by their efforts, both in the work they perform in their labs and in the Terry Fox Run Challenge. Terry’s hope was to bring cancer researchers together with a common cause, to beat one of the biggest challenges we face. Every year, they step up and answer his inspirational call. Thank you!”
Terry Fox Run Challenge
This year, 25 research teams from TFRI’s Research Grants Programs, the Marathon of Hope Cancer Centres Network (MOHCCN) and the Digital Health and Discovery Platform (DHDP) participated.
