The Terry Fox Research Institute has once again partnered with the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) to co-fund two PhD students and two postdoctoral fellows as part of the 2024 Research Training Awards. PhD students will receive a total of $47,000 per year for two to four years, and postdoctoral fellows will receive up to $223,000 over three years. These funds will be equally split between TFRI and CCS.
“We’re proud to support these talented early-career researchers,” says Jim Woodgett, TFRI President and Scientific Director. “We hope this investment helps them hone their skills and knowledge to excel in their future careers, bringing us all another step closer to Terry’s dream of ending cancer through research.”
TFRI-funded trainees are located in Quebec, Ontario and Alberta, and will focus on lung cancer, neuroendocrine cancer, multiple myeloma and the relationship between diet and immunotherapy response.
